At this time of the year 2024, I feel sharing what I learned is a beautiful thing. I would like to share my thoughts about Komyo ReikiDo Shinpiden class. And I hope through this sharing, people can get more understanding about it.
First, I would like to share the reason why I attend the class. I think the moment can trace back to Usui Reiki Ryoho 100 years Celebration in Osaka in 2023. I felt very grateful that I had the chance to interview Inamoto Sensei at that time. Sitting next to him and listening to his sharing was a blessing to me. I have been touched by Sensei’s wisdom and kindness. So I decided to learn from Sensei and I feel grateful that I had the chance to join the class this year in Kyoto.
I would like to use the metaphor to describe the feeling after the class. When I learned Reiki at the very beginning, I was on the 1st floor, I looked up and I thought the top floor was the 10th floor. Over time, I feel like I’ve almost made it to the eighth floor. But after the Shinpiden class, Wow! My perspective on Reiki was broadened. It touched deeper inside myself. I felt like the ceiling on the 10th floor suddenly opened up, and when I looked up, I saw the entire Taipei 101!
Reiki is not just about healing. I mean we can use Reiki to heal ourselves and others and bring happiness. This is true and this is a wonderful gift. But there is still a big part of Reiki that is about spiritual practice. Spiritual practice is not about someone doing some incredible Kung Fu. It is our everyday life. It is about how we accumulate our inner strength and wisdom, calm our mind and do our best in our Dojo, our everyday life. And through Reiki practice, we gradually move toward the spiritual path and on the way to Satori. Reiki is a lifelong Journey. It is simple with profound meaning.
